Frequently Asked Questions
How do I sharpen Relife pencils?
Relife pencils can be sharpened easily using any standard pencil sharpener, just like a regular wooden pencil.
Isn’t paper also made from wood? How is this different?
Yes, paper is made from wood, but we use recycled waste paper like newspapers to create our pencils. This helps reduce deforestation by reusing paper that would otherwise go to waste.
What kind of seeds are embedded in the pencils?
Currently, we use vegetable seeds in our pencils, but the seeds are customizable. You can request specific types of seeds to be added based on your preference.
What kind of lead is used in Relife pencils?
We use the same lead as traditional wooden pencils, specifically HB and 2B grades.
Is the capsule covering the seeds made from plastic?
No, we do not use plastic. The seed capsule is made from biodegradable material similar to what is used in medicine capsules, which decomposes naturally in the soil.
What if children accidentally consume the seeds?
The seeds we use are completely safe for children. Even if consumed, they pose no harm or side effects.
How are Relife pencils made?
Relife pencils are handmade, crafted entirely by hand using recycled paper. This manual process ensures sustainability and a personal touch to each product.
Which Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) does Relife align with?
Relife aligns with several SDGs:
- SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
- SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
- SDG 13: Climate Action
- SDG 15: Life on Land

How does Relife help the environment?
Each year, 8 million trees are cut down to produce wooden pencils. By creating pencils from recycled waste paper, we prevent deforestation. Additionally, 26% of landfill waste in Pakistan consists of paper, which we recycle to make our pencils. Our pencils also feature seed tips that can be planted after use, encouraging reforestation.
Why should I buy Relife pencils?
Our pencils are sustainable, eco-friendly, lightweight, and easy to sharpen. They not only serve a functional purpose but also contribute to saving the environment by reducing waste and encouraging planting through seed-embedded pencils.
